Too light an offering last Tuesday to compare to today's large offering and develop an accurate price trend, higher undertones noted on both steer and heifer calves. Good demand for many loads and packages which made up today's calf offering. A couple loads of replacement quality heifers from reputation outfits met with very good demand. Quality was very attractive and flesh mostly light to moderate. Unlike last week, almost all of today's calves were fully preconditioned. An active market with order buyers, producers, and farmers interested in procuring calves today. The weather has remained dry for the last week and gotten cold with hard freezes overnight helping to dry things out. Soybean harvest has made very good progress and some corn harvest is starting. Next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, October 31.
