Different weight classes of yearlings today than two weeks ago so an accurate trend can not be established. Moderate to good demand for a couple loads and several packages of yearlings offered today, many of these were home raised and all came off grass. Flesh mostly light on these cattle. Light to moderate demand for a couple loads and some packages of spring calves with best demand seen for steer calves selling in loads and lightest demand for calves under 400 lbs. Most of these calves had preconditioning and all were off the cow. Flesh was mostly light to moderate. Several cancellations again today due to the muddy road and yard conditions caused by last weeks' blizzard. Market activity light to moderate with limited buyer attendance today. Weather conditions remain very wet making any outdoor fall work impossible. Many producers are under a tremendous amount of pressure to try and get crops harvested and feed in the yard. Next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, October 17, expecting 5500 calves and featuring many Charolais cross calves.
