Compared to last week: The only good comparison for feeder steers were those weighing 1000-1050 which sold 5.00 to 7.00 higher, this week's 1100 lbs steers were in a different flesh condition than last weeks'. Feeder heifers were not of a similar weight to last week. Very good demand for this large offering of yearling steers and heifers. Many long strings of steers and heifers, including a consignment of 1,100 steers with 15 loads in the main sort. Flesh condition varied, as there were yearlings right off grass in that ultra-desirable light flesh condition, to those coming out of grow yards that were in a moderate to heavy flesh condition. The market was very active as cattle feeders continue to be in the drivers seat and were able to sell cash fat cattle up to 245.00-246.00, and they are wanting to fill their empty pens with these good yearlings while they are available. The cattle futures complex was off hard again today but buyers paid little attention to it. Next feeder cattle sale next week starting at 10:00 am.
