Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady in a narrow comparison except for 1000-1050 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Feeder heifers unevenly steady except for 700-800 lbs 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Moderate demand overall for this week's offering of backgrounded yearling steers and heifers, many long strings and full loads, including multiple load lots. Flesh condition of these cattle mostly moderate plus. Cattle feeders remain defensive and very selective as the cash fed cattle market continues to struggle and the futures contracts for Aug and Oct hold at 108.00. Cattle that are carrying too much flesh are much more difficult to sell than those in an attractive condition. Next week expecting 2,500 feeder cattle starting at 9:00 am.
