Compared to last week: best test on steers 950 to 1049 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher on a narrow comparison. Mostly good demand for cattle today. A light offering featuring a couple strings of steers along with loads and packages. A few cattle coming off grass, including tested open heifers, but the majority came out of yards. Flesh mostly moderate to moderate plus on yard cattle, light to moderate on grass cattle. Quality was average to attractive. An active market with the normal crowd of buyers attending the sale. More volatility in the futures complex this week leading to more uncertainty for the fall marketing season. Some areas have seen rain this week but overall conditions are still very dry in most places. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, August 19.
