Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 899 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower, 900 to 1049 lbs 4.00 to 8.00 lower. Best test on heifers 700 to 749 lbs mostly steady, 750 to 799 lbs 4.00 to 10.00 lower. Loads and strings of big, finishing type cattle and replacement heifers made up the majority of today's offering. Mostly good demand for finishing cattle, good to very good demand for replacements. More flesh overall on the cattle this week, most cattle in moderate to heavy flesh condition. Quality similar to last week with many attractive cattle to choose from. An active market with mostly order buyers attending the sale, farmers are either calving or in the field. Some pressure on the market this week caused by the uncertainty of the futures complex. A very warm day today but temps are forecasted back to the 50's for the end of the week with chances of rain. These wide swings in temperature are hard on cattle, especially baby calves. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, April 29.
