Compared to last week: best test on steers 550 to 599 lbs 10.00 to 12.00 higher, 600 to 749 lbs mostly steady with instances up to 6.00 higher on 700 to 749 lbs, 750 to 799 lbs 4.00 to 10.00 lower, 800 to 849 lbs 4.00 to 10.00 higher. Best test on heifers 500 to 599 lbs and 700 to 749 lbs mostly steady, 600 to 649 lbs 5.00 to 7.00 higher, 650 to 699 lbs 7.00 to 12.00 lower. Another large offering of home raised cattle this week with many loads, some multiple loads, and many packages. Very good demand for light cattle suitable for grass programs, especially those selling in loads, good to very good demand for feeding type cattle. Flesh varied quite a bit, from light to some heavy flesh at times. Quality similar to last week with many attractive cattle to choose from. An active market with both buyers and farmer feeders competing for cattle. Very cold temps and windchills for the next few days with an extreme cold watch starting tomorrow evening. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, January 28.
