Compared to Saturday: steer calves 450 to 499 lbs and 600 to 649 lbs 20.00 to 30.00 higher, 550 to 599 lbs and 750 to 849 lbs mostly steady with instances up to 10.00 higher on 550 to 599 lbs, other weight classes not well compared. Best test on heifer calves 550 to 599 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 higher, 600 to 699 lbs 4.00 to 7.00 higher. Very good demand for today's large offering of feeder cattle. Most of the offering was home raised and long time weaned and vaccinated with many packages, loads, and a few multiple load cuts available. Many attractive cattle to choose from in mostly moderate to moderate plus flesh with some heavy flesh and fill seen at times. An active market with many buyers and farmer feeder in the seats determined to own cattle. Many producers like to wait until the new year to start filling pens for grass programs and are now ready to do so. Temperatures have been mild for January making good feeding conditions aside from some mud. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, January 14.
