Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 899 lbs 7.00 to 9.00 higher with instances up to 13.00 higher. 900 to 949 lbs steady to 4.00 higher. Best test on heifers 750 to 799 lbs steady. A nice offering of mostly backgrounded cattle today with the feature consignment being around 1000 attractive steers from one operation. Good to very good demand for strings and loads, moderate to good demand for packages. Varied quality on packages, average to attractive on loads and strings. Some mud on the cattle again this week as the area has seen more moisture and not much sun to dry out yards. Flesh condition varied, mostly moderate plus overall. An active market with buyers taking more than one load of cattle most of the time and sometimes all loads offered. Live and feeder cattle futures down today. Mostly sunny conditions in the forecast for the rest of the week which should dry things out and help farmers get out to plant. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, May 15.
