No sale last week due to blizzard conditions, compared to two weeks ago: steers 550 to 599 lbs and 750 to 799 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 higher, 650 to 749 and 800 to 950 lbs 10.00 to 12.00 higher, 600 to 649 lb steers not well compared. Heifers 600 to 850 lbs 10.00 to 14.00 higher. Good to very good demand for today's large offering. Many strings, loads, and packages of both home raised and backgrounded cattle offered including many light cattle and several consignments of fall calves. Flesh varied, from light to moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times. More tag this week as the mud has arrived. Between the blizzard and Holy week last week there were very few opportunities to buy cattle which made for a very active market this week with many buyers and farmer feeders competing for cattle. Lots of optimism in the industry right now with predictions of even higher prices to come. After a two day blizzard and lower temps last week, the area is finally seeing some warm, spring like weather this week. Lots of muddy roads and yards this week. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, April 19.
