A light offering last week due to the weather with too few cattle to compare to today's large offering and develop an accurate price trend, higher undertones noted on both heifers and steers. Good to very good demand for this large offering featuring strings, loads, and packages of both home raised and backgrounded cattle. Quality mostly average to attractive today and flesh ranged from light to some heavy flesh at times. A few consignments of heifers advertised to sell as replacements, quite a few of these end up going out to feed. Grass conditions for many are still uncertain after last year's drought and they are not willing to take a chance adding more mouths to feed just yet. An active market for this offering with lots of buyers and a few farmer feeders this week. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, April 27.
