Different weight classes of yearlings and too light of an offering of calves to compare to last week and develop an accurate price trend, lower undertones noted on both calves and yearlings. Mostly good demand for yearling cattle today with those still coming off grass seeing the best demand. Several loads and quite a few packages, mostly tested open heifers, made up the grass cattle. A handful of loads of feedlot cattle in the offering, these carried quite a bit of flesh and sold accordingly. A light calf offering made up entirely of packages. One consignment of weaned calves, weaned 50 days, with the rest of the calves off the cow. Quality on calves less attractive overall than last week with shot records all over the map, from no shots to full preconditioning. Market activity moderate to active on yearlings, mostly moderate on calves. Another day of large losses on the feeders complex, this has along with recent political activity has taken all the excitement out of the cattle industry. Buyers exhibit much more caution as now the future looks very uncertain. Corn harvest is progressing rapidly. Nest feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 31.
