Compared to last week: best test on steers 900 to 999 lbs mostly steady with instances up to 7.00 lower on 950 to 999 lbs. Heifers not well compared today. Three long strings of black steers off grass made up the majority of today's offering and were met with very good demand. Quality was mostly attractive on these steers and buyers were eager to buy multiple loads to fill pens. A handful of packages and loads made up the rest of the offering, good to very good demand for these. Most came off grass as well except one consignment out of a yard showing some flesh and fill. An active market, especially on strings. Both live and feeder cattle futures were lower at the time of this report, however, buyers remain unfazed and are determined to have cattle on hand to market during these record setting times. Some silage harvest started in this area. parts of North Dakota saw frost last week. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, September 19, expecting 3500 to 4000 head.
