Sale not reported in recent weeks so an accurate price trend can not be established. A very large offering for the annual BBQ sale. Something for everyone including fall calves, replacement heifers, light fleshed cattle fed for grass, and long strings and loads of both backgrounded and home raised finishing type cattle. Good to very good demand throughout the day, especially for lighter cattle which have a few more outlets. Flesh varied greatly, from light to heavy on this wide assortment of cattle. Some consignments of grass cattle in town due to dry conditions, producers are saving their grass for their cows or cutting back to conserve grass. Quality ranged from plain to attractive. An active market with plenty of eager bidders in the seats despite some uncertainty in the futures complex this week. Buyers were still interested in procuring multiple loads of same weight cattle to fill pens. The area saw much needed moisture the past two days and temps have gotten cooler again. No sale next week due to Memorial Day, watch local listings for the next feeder cattle sale.
