Compared to last week: best test on steers 900 to 949 lbs and 1000 to 1049 lbs steady to 1.00 higher. Best test on heifers 800 to 849 lbs mostly steady. Another large yearling offering this week featuring many loads and packages and a few strings. Cattle came both off grass and out of yards, moderate to good demand for lot cattle, good to very good for cattle off grass. More flesh overall than last week as last weeks' offering was predominately off grass. Quality varied quite a bit this week, especially on packages, more plain cattle in today's offering. An active market with mostly order buyers attending the sale as farmers are busy with harvest. Conditions this week remained very dry and rather warm, however, colder temperatures are expected for the weekend with a freeze likely. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 18, the annual Anniversary Sale featuring yearlings and the first offering of spring calves.
