Compared to last week: best test on steers 700 to 749 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher, 750 to 849 lbs mostly steady. Heifers not well compared. Good to very good demand for today's offering featuring several strings of backgrounded steers and loads and packages of home raised steers and heifers including replacement quality heifers. Many attractive cattle to choose from, from light flesh grass types to finishing type cattle carrying some flesh. Buyers were less critical of flesh and more concerned with procuring cattle to market this fall. An active market with buyers taking multiple loads when possible to fill pens. Feeder and live cattle had another day on the positive side today. Rain today for the area and more rain expected for the weekend, this moisture is very welcome to get grass off to a good start. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, May 3.
