Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 999 lbs steady. Heifers not well tested this week. Good to very good demand for this large yearling offering. The feature consignment was 2200 head of black hided steers off grass from one family operation. A handful of loads and a few packages, mostly steers and coming off grass, rounded out the offering. Flesh varied a bit, but mostly light to moderate. Lots of attractive quality cattle to choose from today. An active market, however, buyers are choosing less loads at a time out of strings than they would have a few weeks ago. This week was hot and very humid making haying and harvesting conditions almost impossible. Better weather forecasted for the weekend and next week. No sale next week due to Labor Day holiday, next feeder cattle sale is Friday, September 8.
