Compared to last week: steers from 500 lbs to 549 lbs and 650 lbs to 699 lbs were mostly 10.00 to 15.00 higher, steers from 550 lbs to 599 lbs and steers from 600 lbs to 649 lbs were steady to instances of 10.00 lower, steers from 700 lbs to 799 lbs were generally 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifers from 500 lbs to 599 lbs were steady to 15.00 higher, heifers from 600 lbs to 699 lbs were steady to 5.00 lower. Other weight classes to lightly tested to make comparisons. An active to very active market for todays offering of old crop yearlings and spring born calves. Yearlings were mostly packages and part loads ranging from light to moderate fleshed condition. Good to very good demand for todays calf offering with most being long time weaned, fully vaccinated and attractive for quality. Several consignments offered buyers multiple loads in the same sort, plenty of part loads and packages to make loads. Most cattle have been running out in enough space to stay clean. A lower futures market seemed to have little effect on todays offering. Weather in the area has turned from mild to more winter like conditions, with high wind warnings in the next several days hampering movement of cattle. Next feeder sale is Friday, January 23, 2026.
