Compared to last week: Steer calves 400-500 lbs 40.00 to 50.00 lower, 500-600 lbs 20.00 to 40.00 lower, 600-650 lbs 10.00 lower, 650-700 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Heifer calves 15.00 to 30.00 lower, except those under 400 lbs mostly steady. Yearling feeder steers 10.00 to 15.00 lower, yearling feeder heifers not well compared to last week's limited offering of heifers. A very large offering of very high quality, ranch-raised steer and heifer calves, carrying two rounds of vaccinations, coming right off the cow in a very light and highly desirable light flesh condition. The weighing condition was attractive as well. There were many long strings, including one consignment of 1,1100 head and many more that were offered in load lots throughout the entire day, along with plenty of part loads to put together. A nice offering of yearlings coming right off grass started the day. Demand is still good for calves of all weights and the market is very active, as there were ample buyers on the seats and plenty on-line, bidding and buying as well, but the market was under pressure from the losses in the futures complex earlier in the week. Triple digit gains in Live and Feeder Cattle today, but buyers have their sights set lower as they try to buy cattle in line with a declining futures market. Very good demand was seen for replacement quality heifers as there were so many heifers worthy of being made into cows. Next feeder cattle sale will be Nov. 14, 2025.
