Compared to last week: Yearling steers not well compared, yearling heifers from 850 lbs to 899 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 higher. Best test on steer calves from 400 lbs to 599 lbs were 10.00 to 15.00 higher, instances of 30.00 higher on full loads of fully preconditioned steer calves, best test on heifers calves 500 lbs to 549 lbs were generally 20.00 to 30.00 higher. Other weight classes steady - higher on limited comparisons. Good to very good demand on todays offering of yearlings. Several strings along with part loads and packages of tested open heifers made up todays yearling offering. An active market for todays sale with best demand for full loads or multiple loads up to 8 loads offered in the same sort. Most of the yearlings were off grass and in light to moderate flesh condition. Majority of the calves were off the cow and fully preconditioned. Calves were light fleshed and attractive for quality. Best demand for the full loads that had at least two rounds of shots. More interest in the calves offering when compared to last weeks sale. Mostly order buyers competing with internet buyers, and a few farmer feeders also in attendance. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday, October 17th, expecting a large run of yearlings and calves fresh off the cow.
