Compared to last week: Yearling steers not well compared, yearling heifers from 800 lbs to 899 lbs were mostly 4.00 to 6.00 higher. Limited comparisons on calf weights, but a higher market would be noted compared to last week. Very good demand for yearlings with most coming off grass and light fleshed. Many consignments of tested open heifers coming off grass that buyers could put together and make loads. A feature consignment of spayed heifers off grass with 20 loads in the same sort. A couple consignments of yearling steers offered in full loads. Multiple consignments of spring calves coming off the cow with a complete spring and fall vaccination program. Calves were met with moderate demand as most feeders are not ready for a bawling calf. An active market as internet buyers and order buyers cautiously pick and chose their purchases. There is a large price spread on the same weight and class of cattle depending on quality and amount of fill. Next sale is Oct 10, 2025, expecting a large run of calves and yearlings.
