Compared to two weeks ago: Steers from 550 lbs to 699 lbs were 6.00 to 12.00 higher, steers from 750 lbs to 899 lbs were steady with instances of 6.00 lower, steers from 950 lbs to 999 lbs were 8.00 to 10.00 higher; heifers from 550 lbs to 549 lbs were 2.00 to 5.00 lower, heifers from 600 lbs to 699 lbs were mostly 4.00 to 8.00 higher, heifers from 750 lbs to 799 lbs were steady to 4.00 lower, no other comparisons available. Good to very good demand for this large offering of feeder cattle and replacement heifers. A large crowed for todays auction with order buyers, and famer feeders competing with internet buyers wanting to purchase cattle. Best demand was seen for the light fleshed, hay feed cattle, with a moderate demand for the backgrounded cattle. Home raised replacement heifers had an active market from the buyers today. Todays runs consisted of multiple consignments of weaned fall calves and back grounded cattle in primarily load lots. Not as many consignments of part loads and packages as there were two weeks ago, yet buyers could put loads together. Next feeder sale is in two weeks, April 25, 2025
