Compared to last week: steers from 600 lbs to 649 lbs were 3.00 to 5.00 lower, steers from 650 lbs to 749 lbs were 4.00 to 10.00 higher, steers from 750 lbs to 849 lbs were 3.00 to 5.00 lower, steers from 850 lbs to 900 lbs were steady to 2.00 higher; heifers from 550 lbs to 599 lbs were 3.00 to 5.00 lower, heifers from 600 lbs to 699 lbs were 8.00 to 12.00 higher, other weight classes not well compared. Large crowed in attendance for todays sale with usual group of order buyers, a few farmer feeders competing with internet buyers making for an active market. Good to very good demand for todays large offering of feeder cattle and replacement heifers. Best demand continues to be the light fleshed hay fed cattle that have been running out on pasture. Most of todays offering was home raised, fully vaccinated and long time weaned. Multiple consignments of replacement heifers offered buyers the opportunity to purchase multiple loads of one owner cattle. Lots of interest for the replacement heifers in todays sale. Flesh ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus flesh condition cattle coming out of grow yards. Next feeder sale is Friday March 7, 2025.
