Compared to last sale two weeks ago: best test on steers 500 lbs to 549 lbs and 600 lbs to 649 lbs were steady to 4.00 higher, steers from 750 lbs to 899 lbs were 6.00 to 10.00 higher, steers from 950 lbs to 999 lbs were 10.00 to 12.00 higher; best test on heifers 550 lbs to 599 lbs were 8.00 to 10.00 higher, heifers from 650 lbs to 699 lbs were steady to 3.00 higher, heifers from 750 lbs to 799 lbs were 10.00 to 12.00 higher. No other weight classes comparable. Good to very good demand for todays offering of weaned and preconditioned fall calves along with the backgrounded yearlings. Flesh condition ranged from light fleshed cattle suitable for summer grazing to moderate plus cattle coming out of a grow yard. Several long strings offered buyers the opportunity to put multiple loads of one owner cattle together, up to 6 loads per consignment. Mostly order buyers competing with internet buyers made for an active market. There were several groups of reputation replacement heifers and buyers were determined to purchase them, being quiet aggressive at times as some dollared up more than $2,350.00 per head. Adequate moister in the area has provided a good start for the grazing season and making for a promising hay crop. Next feeder sale will be Friday, June 7th, the 27th annual WLAC Anniversary sale, expecting a large offering. Sale starts at 7am central time.
