Compared to last week no comparisons on the yearlings due to limited numbers. Best test on the steer calves 450 lbs to 599 lbs wee mostly 5.00 to 7.00 lower. Heifer calves from 400 lbs to 549 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 lower. Today yearlings were met with good demand. A couple of long strings of spayed heifers, along with lots of part loads and packages of tested open heifers made up the bulk of todays yearling offering. Flesh condition ranged from light flesh to a few moderate fleshed. A fairly active market for todays offering of both yearlings and calves. High winds for several days along with reports of 2 to 4 inches of rain in the areas to the south and east made for less than ideal weather conditions to wean calves or place yearlings in feedlot pens. Next feeder sale will be Wednesday, October 18th, a special black hided calf sale.
