Compared to two weeks ago: limited comparisons on steers with lower undertones noted. Heifers were unevenly steady. Good to very good demand for todays offering of mostly yearlings off grass. A couple consignments of weaned spring born calves were meet with fair demand, as most producers just aren't ready for calves. Several long strings of yearling heifers along with tested open replacement heifers made up the bulk of todays sale. Plenty of cattle to chose from today as buyers could purchase multiple loads of yearling steers or heifers from the same sort, or put part loads and packages together. An active market with the usual crowd of order buyers, a few farmer feeders and internet buyers today. A fairly active market with flesh ranging from light fleshed cattle off grass to moderate plus cattle coming from a growyard. Dryness in the area continues to expand and reduces the availability of grazing options. Fall harvest has began with winter wheat seeding in full swing. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday, September 29th, expecting a large run of yearlings and spring born calves for the 76th Anniversary Sale.
