As filed

Compared to last sale two weeks ago, lighter undertones would be noted on the lighter cattle. Heavier cattle steady to softer. Replacement heifers were met with very good demand. More of a clean up trade today, when compared to last sale two weeks ago. There were several long strings of front end yearling cattle that sold comparable to last sale. Quality this sale was plain to attractive. Most of the fall calf consignments were fully preconditioned and long time weaned with a few consignments right off the cow. Some of the yearling cattle were coming off grass and attractive for quality and weight conditions. Lots of interest with good demand for todays offering as producers continue to try and fill pen space. The cattle futures market is down substantially from two weeks ago, grain futures have been on a tear to the upside as much of the midwest is in need of precipitation. A fairly large crowd of bidders and buyers, both in person and on the internet made for a fairly active market. The next feeder cattle sale is July 7, 2023.
