Last feeder sale was three weeks ago, so no comparisons will be made. An active market with mostly order buyers, internet bidders and farmer feeders eagerly competing for todays offering. Most of todays offering was right off grass and were in light flesh condition. Lots of packages of tested open replacement heifers, several strings of yearlings off grass, and several consignments of weaned fall calves were offered in todays sale. A couple of spring calf consignments were sold with the steer and heifer calves being sold together, they are listed under the steer listing in the 2 & 3 hundred lbs weight categories. Dry conditions in the area have producers concerned about feed resources and grazing potential for their livestock. Cash fed cattle market continues to improve giving cattle feeders optimism about placing cattle in feed yards. The next feeder cattle sale will be September 2, 2022. Eat Beef
