Compared to last week: Steers from 600 lbs to 649 lbs were 2.00 to 4.00 higher; 650 lbs to 699 lbs were steady to 4.00 lower; steers from 700 lbs to 749 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 higher; 750 lbs to 799 lbs were generally steady. Heifers from 600 lbs to 699 lbs were from 2.00 higher to 5.00 lower; Limited numbers for comparisons due to several cancellations because of icy roads in the area. Good demand for the cattle that did make it to town for the auctions. Nearly the entire offering was home raised, fully preconditioned and were a long time weaned. A more active market for the greener grass type cattle especially if they were black hided. Flesh ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate fleshed backgrounded cattle. The next sale will be Friday, January 28th. Stay safe and enjoy your beef.
