Compared to last Wednesday's special black hided calf sale best comparisons on steer calves would be 450 lbs to 499 lbs were steady to 2.00 higher, steers from 500 lbs to 649 lbs were steady to 6.00 lower; only comparisons available on heifers would be 500 lbs to 549 lbs and they were steady to 4.00 higher. No other comparisons available. Very good demand for this attractive offering of spring born calves. Most had spring and fall vaccinations. were light fleshed and fresh off the cow. A good crowed of buyers with internet buyers made for an active market. Several strings of calves offered in load lots with lots of part loads and packages available as well. The area is still extremely dry as predicted moisture in the area failed to materialize. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday November 1, 2024; expecting a nice offering of yearlings and a large run of springs born calves.
