Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 600 lbs were 15 - 30 higher. Demand was good on all offerings. Quite a few, bawling calves hitting the market several weeks earlier than normal due to the extremely dry conditions in the trade area. Some cattlemen are in liquidation mode because there grazing land is in the D3 category (extreme drought).
