Compared to last week, steers sold steady to 5.00 lower. Except 500 lbs steers sold 10.00 lower. Heifer calves sold 2.00 to 7.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Lower market this week could be from the downward pressure on the CME cattle boards the last few days along with a lower fat cattle market. Also, some talk it has been hard to find a semi to haul cattle from auction to home. Wednesday's cattle quality was top notch from start to finish. Several generations of Sandhills ranchers have used AI genetics to increase their cattle quality every year. The top quality producing cows displayed their ability this summer as the trade area was extremely dry and most calves pushed the scale down because of the maternal production.
