Compared to last week's red hot sale: Steers sold 15.00-20.00 lower. Heifer calves 10.00-15.00 lower with instances of 25.00 lower and limited comparable sales from last week and no yearling sales to compare to. Bidding much more active on steers than heifers overall today. Demand started softly and picked up in the afternoon as larger loads appeared more consistently making for wider than normal price ranges. A majority of the offering consisted of smaller packages and lots of home raised and very uniform cattle with Spring and Fall shots. Flesh condition was noticeably light and attractive. CME complex ended the day mixed with feeder cattle futures continuing its decline. The futures closings complemented the less than active bidding seen at times even though quality remained consistent throughout the sale. Next feeder sale Oct 30, 2025.
