Compared to last week: Steers 500 lbs. to 600 lbs. steady to 5.00 higher, Steers 600 lbs. to 700 lbs. 3.00 to 5.00 higher, Steers 700 lbs. to 800 lbs. 7.00 lower. Heifers 500 lbs. to 600 lbs. 7.00 to 14.00 higher, Heifers 600 lbs. to 700 lbs. steady to 5.00 higher. Not enough feeder cattle under 500 lbs. last week for a good test. Not enough yearlings for a test. The buyer demand continues to be very good. The market is active with a lot of bidding and online bidding. The feeder cattle were carrying a attractive flesh condition. The sale at Stockmen's featured a replacement heifer special. The heifers were of outstanding quality with many going for replacement. A lot of the replacement heifers were a larger framed heifer. The CME feeder cattle index has been moving lower and it is showing up at the ring on the heavier steers. The demand for grass cattle continues to be very strong. The next USDA reported sale at Stockmen's is February 20.
