Compared to last week: not enough yearlings for a test. Feeder cattle under 500 lbs. not enough for a test. Steers 500 to 600 lbs. 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Steers 600 to 700 lbs. 7.00 higher. steers 700 to 800 lbs. 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifers 500 to 600 lbs. steady. Heifers 600 to 700 lbs. steady to 4.00 lower. Heifers 700 to 800 lbs. 10.00 higher. The sale demand was very good from start to finish. The market was active with the order buyers really being aggressive to get cattle bought. The feeder cattle continue to carry a attractive flesh condition, with very few in a fleshy condition. The local producers seem to be retaining heifers, as the steers greatly out numbered the heifers. The CME January feeder board closed the day at 277.275 which is driving the market at the sale barn. The next USDA reported sale at Stockmen's will be January 30.
