Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves sold with higher undertones compared to last week's limited offering. Not enough yearling feeder steers and heifers this week to allow a good comparison with last week. Good demand for this first sizable offering of spring born calves, many local buyers on the seats actively bidding on these calves. The shot status was uneven as there were calves with two rounds of shots, along with plenty only carrying one round, shot status didn't seem to matter as the market was equally as active on both. Just a light offering of yearlings as the supply is tight, demand remains good. The Live and Feeder Cattle futures contracts continue to march higher, which is adding support to the feeder market. Next sale is Oct. 17, expecting 3,500 feeders.
