Compared to last week: Yearling feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher, yearling heifers steady to 4.00 higher. A lighter offering of yearlings, after the big BBQ sale two weeks ago, yet demand was very good and the market was active. Cash fed cattle have turned higher and cattle futures contracts have seemed to found support and have worked their way higher again. There were several long strings of yearlings, offered in full loads, along with numerous smaller consignments that allowed for buyers to make full loads. Flesh condition remains attractive, as these cattle are offered straight off grass, depending on the range conditions some are much greener than those coming off better grass. Next feeder cattle sale will be Oct 3, 2024.
