Compared to last week: Feeder steers 7.00 to 10.00 higher, instances to 15.00 higher on 550-600 lbs and 700-750 lbs to 20.00 higher. Feeder heifers 8.00 to 10.00 higher, instances of 15.00 to 20.00 higher on 550-600 lbs. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers this week as the feeder cattle futures made near 5.00 gains today and spot Live Cattle up to 179.00. This week's sale was also the Greater Midwest Livestock Auctioneer contest, there was a large supply of high quality, long strings of long time weaned, steers and heifers and the market was extremely active. Many consignments offered in full loads, as well as plenty of packages to fill loads with. There were ample buyers on the seats, who are feeling much more bullish about the future as the futures contracts continue to climb back to the levels they were at, before they collapsed after Thanksgiving. Flesh condition was mostly moderate, not as many light fleshed. The temps turned even warmer, near 60 degrees, and the snow is basically gone. Cattle were clean, overall in spite of the wet ground conditions.
