Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week feeder steers 450 to 500 lbs. were 6.00 lower; 500 to 600 lbs. were 7.00 to 14.00 higher and 600 to 700 lbs were 11.00 to 16.00 higher. The only weights of feeders heifers for comparison were 500 to 550 lbs. Which were 18.00 higher this week. Buyers did not aggressively pursue the lighter weight calves this week due to the wet and cold weather conditions. Buyer demand was very good this week with more new buyers in attendance. Today had many large consignments and many load lots in the offering. Most calves were in moderate to light flesh condition. Many high quality strings of calves in today and more with two rounds of shots. Expecting a large number of calves for next weeks sale.
