Compared to last week: Feeder cattle were all too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed on both steers and heifers. Quality this sale was mostly plain to average. Demand was mostly good for light offerings. Cattle were offered in mostly very small packages or as singles. Market activity was mostly active this week. Weigh up cows sold on moderate to good demand for moderate offerings. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 lower on breaking and boning cows, lean cows sold steady to 2.00 higher. Packers showed moderate demand for slaughter cows today, however demand for feeding cows remains good to very good. Packers opted to put most of the cow offering on feed. Several loads of cows were purchased to hold for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. Packers were forced to be more aggressive on lean cows as private feeding cow buyers were present trying to purchase this class of cows to feed. High quality cows suitable to feed to premium white sold steady to 1.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold steady to firm in a narrow comparison. Cow and bull quality was mostly attractive to very attractive again this week. Weigh up conditions were average to above average, however weigh up conditions were not as attractive as last week. Young age cows sold mostly steady to weak in a narrow comparison. Demand was mostly moderate. Quality was average to attractive.
