Compared to last week: Steer calves under 550 lbs sold mostly 8.00-10.00 higher, with the exception of 450-499 lbs steers which sold steady to firm, steers over 550 lbs sold generally steady. Heifer calves under 450 lbs sold mostly 5.00 lower, heifers over 450 lbs sold mostly 3.00-6.00 higher. Quality today was mostly average to attractive. Demand was mostly moderate to good for moderate offerings. Market activity was mostly active this week. Not as many farmer feeders were active this week buying cattle, however their slack was picked up by order buyers as more participation was seen this week compared to last. Weigh up cows sold on mostly moderate demand and moderate to heavy offerings. Demand from feeding buyers was very good this sale as they pushed cow prices higher. Feeding cows sold mostly 1.00-3.00 higher on all feeding cows. Slaughter cows were lightly tested this week as feeding buyers purchased the majority of the cow offering. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher on lean cows, all other classes were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed. Quality this week was mixed from plain to attractive. Weigh up conditions were mostly average to above average this week and better than last week. Young age cows sold on mostly moderate to good demand this week. More interest was seen for high quality offerings suitable to rebreed this week. Quality was mostly average this week. Young age cows sold 3.00-6.00 higher on all offerings.
