Compared to last week: Feeder steers 550 lbs and heavier sold unevenly steady from 3.00 lower to 3.00 higher. Steers under 550 lbs were not well compared. Feeder heifers sold mostly steady to 5.00 lower. Demand and offerings were mostly light to moderate. Quality this week was plain to average and lower overall than last week. Flesh conditions this week were mostly light to moderate, however some sets of backgrounded cattle showed moderate to moderate plus flesh this week. Replacement heifer demand was mostly moderate to good this week. Market activity was mostly moderate today. Weigh up cows sold on mostly moderate demand for mostly light to moderate offerings. Packers showed light to moderate demand for slaughter cows this week. Slaughter cows sold mostly 1.00-2.00 lower on lean cows. Breaking and boning cows were too lightly tested to trend, as most of these offerings were purchased to feed. Packers purchased the majority of the cow offering to feed this week. Feeding cows sold mostly 2.00 lower in a narrow comparison. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 2.00 higher on a higher quality offering of bulls. Young age cows suitable to feed or re-breed sold on mostly moderate demand again this week. These offerings sold steady to 3.00 lower. Quality was average.
