Compared to last sale: Yearling steers and heifers were too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Demand for yearlings continues to be mostly good on light offerings. Despite offerings beginning to push some age buyers remain aggressive as they bid on yearling offerings. Steer calves weighing less than 450 lbs were too lightly tested to develop a full market trend, however higher to sharply higher undertones were noticed; 450-649 lbs steers sold mostly 6.00-10.00 higher; steer calves weighing over 650 lbs were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed. Heifer calves weighing less than 450 lbs sold with higher to sharply higher undertones; 450-499 lbs heifers sold fully steady, 500-599 lbs heifers sold mostly 4.00-8.00 higher, all other weights of heifers were too lightly tested to develop any market trend. Demand this sale was mostly good for all feeder calves on offer. Quality this week was mostly average to attractive. With lightened sale schedules seen over the last two and a half weeks buyers returned to the auction this week eager to purchase offerings. Demand for lightweight calves suitable to develop into yearlings was mostly good to very good, especially for calves weighing less than 550 lbs. Market activity this week was mostly active. Weigh up cows sold on mostly moderate to good demand for heavy offerings. Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher on lean and boning cows. Feeding cows sold mostly 2.00-5.00 higher on good demand from both feeding and packer buyers. Several additional feeding buyers were in the market this week helping improve demand on all cows suitable to feed. Slaughter bulls sold generally steady. Cows suitable to re-breed sold sharply higher as several buyers were in the market for young age cows. Offerings were average to attractive.
