Compared to last week: Feeder steers were all too lightly tested last week to develop any market trend. Feeder heifers 800-899 lbs sold mostly 2.00-3.00 lower, 900-999 lbs heifers sold mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Quality overall was attractive. Demand this week was mostly moderate to good for moderate offerings. Several load lots of cattle were on offer this sale, many of which were 3rd party verified NHTC. Demand for these offerings was mostly good. Cattle were mostly off grass and in light to moderate flesh. Market activity this week was moderate to active. Weigh up cows sold on mostly moderate demand for light to moderate offerings. Packers continue to be aggressive as they bid on offerings for immediate harvest. All three packer buyers showed moderate to good demand for slaughter cows. All classes of slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher in a narrow comparison. Weigh up conditions were mixed this week, however overall weigh conditions were significantly better than last week. Demand for feeding cows was mostly moderate to good. Feeding buyers picked around the edges as they searched for high quality cows to feed. Very good demand continues to be seen for large framed fleshy cows to feed for a short time. Feeding cows were too lightly tested last week to develop an accurate market trend however steady to higher undertones were noticed. Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady to 2.00 lower. Bull quality was mostly plain to average this week. Many bulls were lame or very thin this week. Demand for re-breeding cows was mostly moderate to good this sale. Too few comparable sales were seen to make an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed.
