Compared to last sale (8-27-2019): Feeder steers were too lightly tested today to develop any market trend. Feeder heifers 850-999 lbs sold mostly 5.00-8.00 lower with instances of 10.00 lower at times. All other weights of heifers were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however weak to lower undertones were noticed. Demand was mostly light to moderate for moderate offerings. Quality this week was average to attractive. Flesh conditions were mostly light as all cattle were coming off grass. Limited load lots were seen this week, however lots of small to medium sized packages allowed for buyers to piece together loads. CME contracts pushed higher today after several days of selling off. Market activity this week was slow to moderate. Weigh up cows sold on mostly moderate demand for light offerings. Packers and feeding buyers showed moderate demand for feeding type cows this week. Cows in moderate to fleshy condition sold with the best demand as buyers look for quick finishing cows to put on feed. Feeding cows sold steady to weak. The best test for slaughter cows was for lean cows with sold mostly 1.00-2.00 lower in a narrow comparison. Yielding conditions were noticeably lower this sale as cows were in lighter flesh and pushing some fill. Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady to 2.00 lower. Young age cows suitable to re-breed were too lightly tested to develop any market trend.
