Compared to last sale (7-9-2019): Feeder steers and heifers were all scarcely tested this week and last sale thus no trend is available. Demand was mostly light for spring born calves, while yearlings sold on light to moderate demand. Offerings were very light. Market activity was slow. Weigh up cows sold on mostly good demand for light offerings. Packers purchased slaughter cows on good demand. The majority of the cow offering is destined for immediate harvest. Feeding cow buyers purchased some cows away from packer buyers this week as they showed good demand for cows as well. Slaughter cows sold 3.00-5.00 higher than the fist week of July. Feeding cows were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed. Slaughter bulls sold on mostly moderate to good demand for light to moderate offerings. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 2.00-3.00 higher. Bull quality this week was average to attractive. All cows and bulls were pushing fill this week as temperatures pushed well into the 90s. This made cow and bulls higher on both a dressed and live basis compared to last sale. Young age cows suitable to re-breed sold on light to moderated demand. These offerings sold with higher undertones compared to last sale.
