As filed

Compared to last sale: Feeder steers and heifers were all scarcely tested this week thus no trend is available. Demand was mostly light on very light offerings. Market activity was slow. Weigh up cows sold on light to moderate demand and heavy offerings. Packers showed lighter demand again this week for slaughter cows as most packers purchased cows to feed. With the July 4th holiday next week and no sales in many locations, packers purchased some of the cow offering to feed until next week. With heavy cow and bull offerings seen this week and over the last few weeks all prices were lower. Slaughter cows sold mostly 2.00-5.00 lower, with instances of 7.00 lower seen at times on all classes of slaughter cows compared to the first week of June. Feeding cows sold 4.00-6.00 lower on all ages of cows. Cows were pushing some fill this week as many cows were fresh off grass this morning. Notably, cows are pushing considerably more weight this week than 3 weeks ago. Cows on average are 100 lbs heavier than they were at the beginning of the month as heavy rains have pasture and range conditions in mostly good to excellent conditions across the eastern portions of the state. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 2.00-4.00 lower. Cow and bull quality was mostly attractive to very attractive.
