Compared to last week: All feeder cattle were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however steady undertones were noticed on steers and steady to higher undertones were noticed on heifers. Quality this week was average to attractive, however quality was not as attractive as last week. Demand for feeder cattle was mostly moderate on light offerings. Market activity was moderate to active. Weigh up cows sold on mostly good demand for light to moderate offerings. Packers and feeding buyers were both very active in bidding on offerings this week. Packers, looking forward to holiday business and lightened sale schedules across much of the region were aggressive as they pushed to gather offerings for immediate harvest. Slaughter cows sold mostly 2.00-4.00 higher. Feeding buyers, after being mostly sidelined due to weather conditions over the past few weeks, were very aggressive in trying to procure offerings as well. Feeding cows sold mostly 2.00-5.00 higher as a result. Slaughter bulls sold generally steady on a lower quality offering this week. 2-3 year old cows suitable to re-breed sold on moderate demand for light to moderate offerings. These offerings sold lower this week on a lower quality offering.
