Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold mostly steady. A nice offering of new crop calves and yearlings was on hand and demand was good. The highlight of the sale was two loads of yearling heifers selling in one shot. Supply was moderate. Corn harvest has started following the hot, dry, windy weather that dried the corn in a hurry. That same weather also left pastures in need of moisture to supply any type of fall grazing. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 higher, spots 5.00-7.00 higher on high dressing kind.
