Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week, steers sold steady to spots 5.00 higher and heifers traded steady. Demand was good for a light to moderate supply that included a nice offering of grazing calves, yearling steers and some replacement heifers. The weather has continued to make the transportation of cattle difficult, thus limiting receipts. Cattle futures closed lower on Wednesday but buyers were aggressive for the quality cattle. A light test of slaughter cows sold steady.
